Plans are being finalized to create 70 beautiful new residential loft apartments in the Voices building at 1000 Jackson. These will all feature exposed brick walls, big windows, high ceilings, high efficiency heating, cooling and communications, as well as parking in the basement!

The City has committed over $5.5 million to replace all the streets and sidewalks in this Historic Millwork District, as well as replace all the underground utilities. This work will begin in Fall of 2010, and will create a dynamic, walkable neighborhood with every amenity and many opportunities to live, work and play.

As shown in the architectural renderings above, the proposed plaza at 10th and Washington Streets provides appealing public space for all four buildings on that corner. These four buildings will be the first in the district to be redeveloped, into a vibrant mix of residential, commercial and entertainment venues. Walkable in scale, it's close to the Port of Dubuque, downtown, and all the arts, culture and entertainment that thrives here.
